I think more transportation should be provided for the disabled
I’ve always had a problem with travel because of the epilepsy which I’ve had for 49 years from childhood days because of meningitis at six months old

Welcome to the community @painter24 ☺️
This is definitely an important issue for many. What kind of transportation would be accessible to you?

To be fair though i'm not sure what other transport support we should have thats not already given already, especially with cuts going on.
We already get:
Free disabled travel pass - for bus, train, trams
Motorbility scheme
Ring and Ride / Taxi vouchers
Blue Badge - if using your own or someones car.
Free car tax
Theres probably more, but I don't think Disabled people are really lacking in transportation options.

A catch-22 of public transport for people with disabilities is that they may not get used often enough to make them financially viable.
The higher costs and lack of use is the reason it's generally impossible to get a wheelchair accessible taxi in County Durham. The fact that they aren't available discourages many people (including me) from going out more often, so the taxis don't get used enough if they become available.
Uber (etc) can't manage them here at least. As that's the case, I can't realistically see how things might change. Thanks to the successes of medicine there are ever-growing numbers of people with all manner of disabilities.
I'd like to be more optimistic, but they're unlikely to put me in charge and I've no idea how it could be made affordable.
Good luck

with disability and where I live I don’t get free transportation because I have to have a taxi to the hospital which takes just under two hours and that costs me 60.00 a time because the taxi is the only way to get to the hospital then it takes over two hours to get back home by bus

That sounds tough @painter24. Do you receive PIP to help cover the costs?

I receive now universal credit because I was on ESA and I get pip but it was only approved four years ago last month by a reconsideration notice because they stopped it and it’s been like it for years when I used to be on DLA before pip came out because years ago the hospital used to pay for peoples transportation but they stopped that because they were losing to much money from the hospital so what I’ve always done is put so much away each month before the appointment comes around like I’ve been doing now because I’ve got to go to the hospital on the 18th of this month because I go there every four months unless the doctor wants to see me because when I go sometimes I don’t always see the doctor it’s nurse to check the VNS implant battery percentage which was fitted four years ago in October this year and there’s medication I have to take every day but that has to come from the hospital doctor because the local doctors cannot issue it
