Adhd and Autism

So Politicians now seem to think they are experts on this.I dont have either but my son has both and us affected by both.Reading between what I've heard already I think they ( the Politicians).Think Drs are over diagnosing and in doing so it is leading to a number of people claiming for benefits. So they feel the welfare bill can be cut basically by not diagnosing so many people.THIS in simple terms what it is coming down to lets be plain and simple. This will have such a detrimental affect ( I think) on children imparticularly growing up without an understanding or knowledgement of their condition. And parents having the information they need either. It also puts Drs in a very stressful situation especially when a patient presents clearly with either Adhd or Autism if the Government are saying give an alternative pathway or provisional assessment

I think investigation of the rising numbers is worthwhile.

I do wonder if our current understanding of neuro typical is right, if there isn't actually a little more flexibility in what's currently considered as normal, and people are being wrongly diagnosed.

My cousin has twins and as children both were flagged by teachers, twin 1 yes absolutely something isn't quite right, twin 2 was flagged at age 7/8 for being occasionally unable to sit still in class! Labelled as potential ADHD, twin 2 has since outgrown that issue.

I won't say in full what I think as to avoid going off on a rant.

But with all the other reviews it's rather obvious what the background behind and hoped outcome of a review will all be about.

I did an in-depth search of this Fonagy and he has previously stated some rather warped opinions about mentalisation

when it's led by someone like that and autism isn't understood even at times by those who live with it for decades there's not much chance of a useful conclusion.

I leave it there as If I move on to streetings previous remarks and what I think of him and mcfadden I'll likely be banned.
