Daily text messages from UC

I switched over to UC last Friday and thus far i have received six text messages which equates to one message every working day from UC telling me to call them straight away or my future benefit payments could be in jeopardy. I don't cope well with pressure and i now feel obliged to have my phone by my side constantly just in case UC send another 'call us asap or else' text message.

Before migrating to UC i would often have my phone switched off completely for days on end. Those days are sadly gone now because UC just love to text message me with their carefully worded threat to call them immediately or potentially lose your benefits.

Today no text message from UC but only because its the weekend.

Friday i ignored the 'call us or else' message from UC because it was a really bad health day for me. I'll probably now be public enemy number one in the eyes of UC for daring to ignore one of their messages.

UC claims are often busy at the beginning, this calms down once all the i's are dotted and T's crossed.

Have you contacted them to find out the reason for the messages?

I personally have email notifications set up for UC.

Hi Kimi87, UC have explained to me because i am in the telephone support group they are obliged to message me if anything is added to my UC account or journal. I don't have a UC journal so i guess they are managing everything.

You do really need to contact them, if UC require something from you such as a piece of information then the claim likely can't progress until you've undertaken whichever action is needed.

You really shouldn't assume they are taking care of everything.

As you don't have a Journal then you'll need to call them, they'll be available from Monday on the phone.

Sounds like a telephone claim is far more stressful than an online claim. I haven't had 6 texts from UC in 18 months let alone 6 days! As Kimi has said, how else can they contact you to manage anything if you don't have an online account?
