Parking issue
I live in a bungalow in a small close; my bungalow is the only property that does not have off-street parking but does have a residents parking bay outside, for which I have to pay for an annual permit. The council have just written to say they are replacing the parking bay with yellow lines, which would mean I can no longer park my motability car. The only parking would then be on the main road but I would not be able to walk that far and can only park three hours on the yellow lines without having to move my car. Any advice gratefully appreciated.

@beeches66 Have you approached the council about your circumstances? Do they know you are disabled and your car is a Motability car? Can off road parking for your bungalow be made though alterations?
Sorry about the questions.

Do you have a Blue Badge? If yes, you could continue to park in the same spot providing it is not causing a danger, which I assume as you currently park there, would not.

I was assuming the 3 hours parking was with a BB. But good point!

I'd get in touch with a local councillor to find out why the change is happening also.
Ultimately for peace of mind you might want to consider moving to a property with off road parking.

Thanks for all the comments.
I just moved here three years ago so moving again is not an option I would even consider.
My BB allows me to park for three hours but I would then need to move the car for an hour before returning. To keep doing this several times a day, six days a week would be too much.
The council are aware that I am disabled as I did originally float the idea of a disabled parking bay but as I have never had trouble parking I didn’t go that route.
There is plenty of room for off-street parking but this is financially outside my control.

A disabled bay wouldn't solve the problem as anyone else with a BB could park there, indeed anyone without could do so without consequence if your local authority isn't good at parking enforcement.
Have you investigated a Disabled Facilities Grant? That could potentially fund a dropped kerb for your home etc.

Council parking wardens check here every day but I did say in my earlier reply that I chose not to go the disabled bay route.
A dropped kerb would be just part of a solution as part of the garden would need to be made into a parking space (currently it is grass & flower bed).

I realise you decided against a disabled bay before, but that was when you had no trouble parking a situation that is changing.
Hard standing for a parking space within your garden is also something the Disabled Facilities Grant may be able to fund.
