Artistic artist

Nihilistic nihilist

Autistic person

Please let's not invent terms to describe ourselves. We are not "autistics". It sounds too much like another word we no longer use.

Autistic is an adjective not a noun.

Scope is very clear about acceptable terminology to use when describing autistic people such as myself. Thank you!

If it was relevant to the conversation I was having, I'd refer to "People with autism".

I'm a person with a physical disability and I think the person is by far the most important aspect of both those phrases.

    That's just me.

    Good luck being you

Why use three words when you can use two? 😉

It is who I am rather than an add-on, in fact it has me!

Scope, please tell us the various terms you recommend we use - I can't find them - thanks.

    Hi @WhatThe

Here is the link to Scopes page about how we speak about disability and we would say somebody is autistic or on the autism spectrum in Scope😊
