This dangerous constant babbling about "mild" or "low level" mental health is genuinely upsetting

actual medical professionals use this term to describe these

    • Depression (mild to moderate forms)
    • Generalised anxiety disorder (GAD)
    • Panic disorder
    • Phobias
    • Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) (less severe presentations)
    • Stress and low mood

So they are what thr government will be refering to, They have no right to keep brushing people's issues aside or ignoring the fact many with any of the above will have other or even multiple interconnected or separate disabilities.

Although benefits and work are helpful people some of their recent articles including one this morning aren't exactly helpful

Giving badenochs verbal dysentary air time in an article will just upset people further.

I'll sign Andi, but sadly I do feel it's a waste of time 💛

I'm not despairing Cath as all my conditions are at the severe end like yourself, I'm concerned about others on here who may unfortunately be viewed by these vile MPs as more mild.

    big hugs back to you.

I doubt it is directed at disabled people like yourself. I gather they are referring to people who receive low PIP for mental health. I can get stressed and it has been bad at certain times, so much so I did not want to go out but I actually class mine as mild life stresses and I don't claim for It, I have never mentioned it on my PIP forms. I think these Doctors are referring to these people with mild life stresses and not people like yourself that suffer badly.

Catherine, I don’t have depression or mental health problems myself, but I share your concern about how MPs and media keep throwing around “mild” or “low‑level” as if those words mean “not serious.”  In reality, those terms cover recognised conditions that can still be disabling, and too often they are used to brush people aside.

That’s why petitions like this matter. Hate crime rhetoric doesn’t stop at one group, it chips away at dignity across the board.  Whether someone’s illness is labelled mild or severe, it’s still real, often alongside other disabilities.  Anyone suggesting otherwise is repeating the outdated views of the last century, labels that have always been used to dismiss disabled people.

I’ve just signed the petition, taking it up to 497, hopefully more members will add their names too.

@Catherine21 mums ok thanks for asking got her a second hand car today after being off the road 11 days went for a drive tonight she seems to like it.

@Trevor_PIP Thanks Trevor appreciate the kind reassurance.

I've asked a few to sign the petition whether they actually do I'm unsure.

Even when I'm on social media extremely briefly daily to post on the radio stations pages the shocking remarks I see are frightening people genuinely believe the rubbish they read and lies like whately recently told such a mobility cars being "free"

@Nightcity Thanks. There is that element on social media and all they need is a reason, it does not matter what, currently it's Motability cars, they are best ignored. I have a Twitter account but not been on for 3 years. I don't need it.

I think any MP who tells outright lies that then lead on to a*use and H*e should instantly lose their seat and be taken to court.

They think they are special and above the law.
