I need to find a new source of Chocolate - not Cadburys - that's not the same as it used to be and recent price hikes have really put me off the brand.

Has anyone got any alternatives that still use the same ingredients (milk and cocoa solids) ?

    Cadbury's hasn't been the same since Mondelez (The American Cheese Company) bought them years ago, pretty sure they started messing with the ingedients to cut cost.

    Anyway I like swiss chocolate like lindt as a treat now and then, seems alot more smoother.

    I KNEW Cadburys was tasting different!! I can't explain it but it's just wrong!! I went over to Galaxy, have tried Tony's which was quite nice on the odd occasion

    Swiss chocolate is lovely but can only have tiny amounts at a time as I find it quite sickly lol but maybe that's a good thing😅

    I love Lindt chocolate. The boxes go for £5 odd, though. Bit pricey, but no harm in treating yourself occasionally.

    I still like Cadbury's - Twirl's and Wispa's. I can't walk past a Chunky KitKat either....

    We have just come back from Aachen in Germany, the home of the Lindt factory…. they sold bags of misshapes, a kilo for £5. Safe to say at Christmas we will be eating our body weight in chocolate..! I also bought a bar of 100% plain, I've only had 80% before so that will be an experience.

    I loved Aldi's bars of very dark chocolate 🍫 Unfortunately, I can no longer get to a store.

    If i was to name one thing i miss about meat eating, it would be black pudding! I went to a café with my mum and dad today, and everyone except me seemed to be scoffing black pudding, bacon, poatched eggs etc.

    I don't even eat eggs, butter, or milk now. Luckily the vegetarian options at the café are first class. 🥑🍄‍🟫🫑

    Lindt LINDOR Milk Bar ingredients;

    Ingredients: Sugar, Vegetable Fat (Coconut, Palm Kernel), Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Mass, Whole MILK Powder, Skimmed MILK Powder, LACTOSE, Anhydrous MILK Fat and more..

    Wibbles, any chocolate made with this amount of vegetable fats is going to taste clammy. Some Lindt chocolate made with mainly cocoa butter does taste divine.

    Cadbury's also vary the proportions of ingredients. Check the labels for cocoa content and emulsifier which gives chocolate a grainy texture. The price of cocoa shot up a couple of years ago but the secret of good chocolate is that you can't eat much of it because it's so rich.

    Lucky you! Did you get to see Charlemagne's throne? I love that even Napoleon looked, but out of respect, didn't try it for size.

    We didn't, we went to the Christmas markets in Cologne, Aachrn and then over to Valkenberg in Holland. Wasn't really a sightseeing break more of a retail therapy jaunt.

    You have to look very hard to find chocolate that doesn't have that cheap ingredient, palm oil in now. The last chocolate I had was a Terry's chocolate orange, it was our family tradition to have one in our stocking. I got all excited, popped a segment in my mouth & bleurk, in the bin it went, along with the whole thing. It tasted awful & felt awful. I looked up what had changed & it was palm oil. It's not just chocalate it's in, as it's like a disease & going into everything, disgusting stuff! Good for profits & bad for flora & fauna. Wouldn't be surprised if it isn't actually bad for us.

    Yes, Lidl fine cocoa bars with raspberry pieces or caramel and the white chocolate with strawberry pieces are delicious. I rarely buy chocolate these days.
