Can they change my mum's PIP entitlement?

Hi everyone, I appreciate this helpful community.

I had my tribunal today over video call/zoom kind of thing, I had my mum with me to help if I needed it. They asked her what her name was (first and last) and if she receives any benefit to which she said she receives universal credit and PIP. I was just wondering, since she was able to assist me in the tribunal, will this effect her PIP? She helps me a lot on daily life even though she struggles for herself. I was just wondering if they'd change her PIP or stop it purely because I mentioned her helping me etc.?

Hi @Anonymous26. Don't worry, it won't affect her entitlement. She's been assessed as eligible for claiming PIP so helping you at your tribunal won't affect anything. There are lots of people on disability benefits who also help care for others.

@Anonymous26 I agree with @Rachel_Scope too. It's your Mum and it is natural she would be there for her daughter! Also, It was a video call too, so she would be there.

I do find it a bit strange they ask whether the assistant is on any benefits themselves. I can only assume they're gathering information on the number of claimants that are helping other people to claim. I can't see any other reason for asking that question, it shouldn't have anything to do with the assistance they provide as at an assessment.🤔
