i had a disabled grant off the council for £30000 pounds i had 2 internal doors changed to sliding doors and the back door enlarged for wheelchair access with a outside ramp, also had a rear gate installed for wheelchair access,i asked for some slabs up the garden but they said no,anyway the probem i have is the gate is not suitable for disabled access there has been a shoot bolt installed at the top of the gate which makes it impossable to open from inside or outside,i have complained to the council but they wont put it right and they signed the grant off without my permission which they said they could do,i have looked at the DFG website and they say there should be a suitable locking system for me to operate and the gate should be secure can anybody advise me as i think i am being discriminated thanks for reading

Hi @micky711, sorry to hear this has happened. When you say you have complained to the council, was this through a formal complaints process?

If the council won't put it right, it may be worth speaking to your local MP to see if they can put some pressure on them to get it changed.

Hope you can get it sorted!
