Chemist

No matter how many times i tell my local chemist to stop sending me so many meds they continue to send them. I've even asked my GP to remove a long list of meds that are stuck on auto repeat without success. One example being GTN spray for unstable angina. One bottle should last over 2yrs but my chemist delivers me a bottle every two weeks - there are many other examples) I'm not suggesting chemists are profiteering from the NHS but the NHS continues to foot the bill for unwanted meds that routinely end up in the bin.

Yes, similar with me. I think doctors and chemists are so rushed, it's not on their priorities list.

I also believe (was informed by the delivery person of my medicines) that returned medicines are also binned and that the purpose of returning them to the chemist is that they are safely destroyed.

Is there an alternative pharmacy which might deliver to you? That seems as odd as it is wasteful. I only get medications on request.

McMikey makes a good point about disposing of them carefully.

According to the Chemist my meds are made up (blister packs) in a factory then delivered to the chemist who then deliver them to me. Previously Boots were no better than my current chemist because they also continued to deliver meds even after i'd told then to quit.

I order all my medications on the NHS app with a nominated chemist on there. It means I only order what I need. Would you be able to do that?

My meds are constantly being added to by various specialists which makes it very difficult.
