Pip taken away after review
hi guys just wanted any advice as feel bit helpless, I was awarded pip back in 2021 for severe anxiety and depression due to some trauma and stuff I went through in the past, I was awarded enhanced on both elements after a tribunal as I wasn’t successful to begin with or MR. I had a review around 5 months ago and was recently notified my allowances have stopped! So I have asked for a MR. I have since been diagnosed with Ino pip is awarded due to how your medical issues effect your daily life, I’m just having a bad time having to be humiliated and stuff again and go over the same stuff I’ve had to tell complete strangers who really don’t care! So draining. Since being on pip I have been diagnosed with chronic ptsd and agoraphobia I suffer bad with panic attacks flash backs etc.

Hi @gazzzzz1200. I'm so sorry they've taken your PIP away. It's an awful process and I completely understand why you're struggling. It's good that you've already asked for a MR and hopefully you'll be awarded without having to go to tribunal. A lot of people here have been through similar things so will be able to share their experiences.
Are you getting any support?

I'm so happy to hear that you're getting lots of support. I've got everything crossed that you get a good outcome.

To be honest they will always review mental health stuff moving forward because for a lot of people mental health issues respond well to talking therapies, specialist therapies and medication. Are you getting mental health support from NHS? Or can you fund private therapy? EMDR can be very effective for trauma ❤️
They review all PIP as far as I can see - I have MS which is literally an incurable, progressive disease and I am due a review next year or the year after. Maybe they think AI will invent a miracle cure before then!

The slow creep to separate Mental Health conditions from Physical Health conditions specifically in terms of Welfare payments continues to gather pace because government believes large numbers of folks claiming PIP or UC for mental health issues are capable of working. As far as i'm aware government hasn't been able to provide any evidence to back up that belief. Probably because no such evidence exists.
