Do you remember that Bulgarian gang who stole thousands of UC, well they're out of prison and some claiming UC again. And dwp didn't know until a paper told them. So they go after genuine people and these are not. Most of the money was sent abroad

    I'm confused if they stole thousands are they not being seen as having too much capital or savings??

    It was a tad more than thousands, it was round about 54 million...

    They're just scammers. They know how to 'play the game'. They don't have any savings in the UK, it gets sent back to Bulgaria.

    This woman will be deported eventually, along with the rest of the gang, but they can't be deported yet due to all the legal processes etc. If she'd been kept in prison she'd be living off tax-payers money anyway, it's just another bit of click-bait to get 'working people' wound up about people on benefits…
