It fills me with dread tbh I'd like to say we are living in a civilised world with rights but that seems to be fading wish I could live in a community thats off grid I don't know what skills I could bring like us all im desperate to get out of this matrix and this agenda i keep saying when does this all stop becoming conspiracy because the world isn't the same the amount of chaos I believe is manufactured to set civil war i try to talk to my daughter for a plan B she thinks im crazy but I think its crazy that people think this coumtry the world is still the same its like all dystopian films I've ever seen the eroding of society i have hope with the monks doing the peace walk and that fills me with joy but on the other shoulder im very very uneasy feel like a sitting duck

I'm not smart enough to figure out if its a good idea or not so i will just accept whatever is decided. I've got a driving licence and a passport both with my picture on them so one more photo ID won't make much difference to me.

As a cybersecurity expert and ethical hacker, I have no doubt in my mind that as soon as they make this mandatory and the system is up and running its going to be a #1 target for hackers. Identity theft is going to become more easily available, once they roll it out more and more controls will be put in place too.

I think me personally that the word conspiracy theorist is thrown around alot on subjects like this but me personally I see patterns well tbh it hard not to look what's happening world wide and happening here protesters out all the times fighting against harmful policies that is destroying businesses homes life's but we have to carry on like notings happening dismiss the great anxiety all this is bringing to the world keep it all in do small talk and smile I can't do that I just wish could find a solution so wow cybersecurity that could be your lifeline im the future impressive I seriously been trying to think of a skill I could use im still at blank point I cannot be controlled its impossible

Rubin, I am 100% in agreement that you are right about the cybersecurity side. A system like that would be a magnet for hackers and scammers the moment it goes live.
Given the NHS IT fiasco, that huge attempt to modernise records which ended up being scrapped after costing the government more than £10 billion, plus Universal Credit’s digital chaos and the way HMRC’s site collapses every January, I am not convinced a national digital ID would survive its first Monday morning.

Hi all,
We’ve done a little tidying in the most recent pages of this discussion to help keep things on track and welcoming for everyone.
We really value the fact that our members bring a wide range of experiences and perspectives, and thoughtful debate is always encouraged. That said, please remember to keep contributions in line with our house rules and respectful of one another, even when opinions differ.
If you have any concerns about another post, we’d really appreciate you using the report function rather than responding publicly, it helps us address issues more quickly and keeps discussions constructive.
Many thanks,
Online Community Team
P.S. For anyone missing it, the tea-related chat hasn’t disappeared, you can find it here.

If anyone has missed this; I thought I'd misheard a snippet on this evening's news, the Gov't is no longer making digital ID mandatory with the 'Right to Work.' Documents such as a passport can be used.
There's a little info here:
However a consultation soon about digital ID is still on the cards, so we will have to see what transpires.

Continuing the thread I came across a Youtube channel called 'Fine Print' that has highlighted the companies the government is still going to use for managing ID data handling. Some don't have a great reputation..

Catching up with what's been happening so I'm behind on it all but it looks like they haven't scrapped it then? They're still committed to it.
