I have 5 helicopters circling the sky's where I live never experienced this before yes one over the years very rear making me anxious

    We get these Catherine, probably because we are living near the M1. There may have been a really nasty accident somewhere.

    Were they Military or Civilian helicopters ?

    there was five spaced out im not sure i phoned neighbour she wasn't sure they had loads of lights at one point in distance flew low behind rooftops

    There is a website you can use that shows planes and helicopters in your area in real time. You can also use the 'playback' button to go back to a previous time. (Looks like 8pm from your post on here).

    Just make sure you move the map to the UK instead US

    I live not far from some major airports so we get tons of helicopters and planes going overhead. I like looking at the flight trackers too some days to see where they're going to.

    One of the airports is a military one so we even get the red arrows and big massive chinooks flying over sometimes.

    Have to admit that some days I panic that something's going on but usually it's just a display or training thing! Hopefully it was something similar for you @Catherine21

    I thought they was coming to take me away i had pixie in my arms looking out the window like what's happening poor pixie was thinking here she goes again i phoned my neighbour i was like look at those flashing lights !! ET come home like Independence Day flashing before my eyes 👀 i should of been a film director could of made millions with a brain like mine

    Every now & then there are several choppers, most was 5 & they were hunting badlads, as is the norm it seems! I watched for a while at my lounge window, was interesting when they eventually hovered in a pentagon pattern for quite a while, so obviously they had eyes on them. I like watching on the flight tracker too, @Rosie_Scope

    Have Chinooks go over, very recognisable sound. Also, I'm on the flight path for the air ambulance, sadly, that goes by me too regularly.
