PIP mandatory reconsideration
hi
so basically I used to get pip but it ended and thy sent out the renewal forms to my mams house but she died and I never got them and I just forgot about it and got on with life had too much stress to even think about stuff like that
Eventually got around to ringing pip up and making a new claim they said I had to because I left th last one for so long I did this in August 2024
They didn’t get around to booking my assessment so I rang again in march 2025 where thy booked me in for my assessment again and I did it in either may or June and awarded in July
I got backdated but only between march and july
So i didnt realise this and I rang up and did a mandatory reconsideration and said i dont dispute the award i dispute the dates saying they missed backdated money between August 2024 and march 2025
I had a phone last Friday so nearly a week ago
She said she was from dwp had my wrong address so updated that
Then she said can she ask a few questions
She fist said how would I feel about a large sum of money being deposited into my account as I am disputing between August and march and that would be large sum of money being deposited
I said fine
Then she asked about work I did in June and July and I said it was online surveys
Then she asked about work I did in 2024 and I said I couldn’t remember
Then she asked how long my bipolar and anxiety has affected me going outside and doing things alone and I told her since my brother died and she said when was that and I said 2019
Then she said something about going to a decision maker and 7-10 days or something I can’t remember exactly
I looked up on line and since it was Friday I was expecting a payment on Wednesday 3 working days after the call that I’m owed for
I haven’t had any texts or money go in my bank and it would be 5 working days tomorrow
What does this mean and what should I expect will they text me when a decision has been made
Do they make the decision right after that phone call
Do you think they will accept my dispute?
Sorry it’s so long I’m not the best at writing things out
Thanks

Hi @courseitsdan if they've given you a deadline, I'd like to think they'll come back to you within that timescale, but as you've said you weren't sure if you remembered that right, you could always pop them a call after the 10 days to clarify.
It's difficult to predict the outcome but hopefully you hear back with a positive result soon. Please let us know how you get on, and when you hear.
