PIP Result - Ask for an MR?
Hi, I had my assessment via a phone call, which was recorded at my request, I have had a message after a week saying I have been awarded pip. apparently standard on both parts which I find incredulous given the significant nature of my disability, and the physical limitations some of the causes of which are un-diagnosed after 1 year, though 3 medical professionals have written that I have a very unusual, complex problem causing it, some disagreeing with others. Obviously i am intending to do a MR once they send me the report. i just wondered if it was usual that they threw me the minimum award ? Kind regards.

Hi,
A lot of people score 0 points when they first apply for PIP. Getting Standard for both is better than many do.
Obviously if you've checked the descriptors and believe you should score enough points for Enhanced awards then go for MR. Unfortunately just having considerable limitations doesn't necessarily mean you fit into their neat little boxes. My own conditions could never be awarded Enhanced Mobility, for example, despite being less able in the real world than many who are awarded Enhanced Mobility.

Hi @BrutonStreetTailor, as Overly has said, a lot of people score 0 at the first stage. You can ask for an MR, however you risk them taking the award away altogether as they reassess your claim. Here's some more information
