Disabled child element
hi all I recently discovered that I have been receiving the wrong child element rate since 2019. I have been receiving the lower rate instead of the high. I messaged in my journal back in 2019 to ask would I need to update them on my child going from middle rate to high rate for care. I was told it wouldn’t make a difference when it would have. They have this month changed me on the right rate. I have asked for this to be sent to a decision maker but my case manager keeps ignoring what am saying and has sent it to be backdated to just November 2025 from when my child moved from DLA to ADP. Do you think I will get it back dated ? I have phoned UC to call me back as the case manager isn’t reading past notes. Any advice would be grateful.

They don't normally backdate that long BUT do you still have evidence in your journal that you told them? If so you can argue official error as you told them and can evidence you did so it's their mistake ❤️

All messages in the Journal should be visible. I know in the past I've gone back a few years to check something.
If your case manager isn't being responsive, you can try making a formal complaint.

Hi @xtine19x and a warm welcome to the community from me!
Your messages should be able to view on your journal even if they are a few years old.
From what you've described, it sounds like it may be worth making a complaint with the link that Kimi provided above especially if the case manager has been ignoring you.0 -
Thanks everyone for your feedback. Yeah I have evidence in my journal that I asked in 2019 about would it make it difference and should I make the change and was told no. I’m waiting on a case manager phoning me tomorrow but I think I will make a compliant he’s just not reading previous messages or answering direct questions.
