Retirement due to caring for husband

My husband has stage 4 cancer, fractured his spine, epilepsy, and diabetic, I have now been off work due to stress of caring for him 24/7

My employer initially rejected redundancy, flexible retirement or going part time.

Then they suggested that I could go back part time on a temp basis for 6 months

My Stress levels are through the roof

I have also had cancer but in remission, I also have sleep apnea, Copd..

So I'm asking do you think I would be classed unfit for work and able to get ill health retirement

    I'm sorry to hear about the challenges you and your husband are facing. It sounds like a very difficult situation.

    Unfortunately, it is hard to say whether you would classed unfit for work and able to get ill health retirement as it depends on several factors such as your specific health conditions, your employer's policies and any relevant pension scheme rules.
