Anyone NOT had a UC review??

I see people post all the time about being asked for statements and things and that it's a yearly review or whatever, but I've never been asked to do this. A few years ago they wanted me to reprove my ID and bank account and let me send copies by email as a reasonable adjustment but aside from that I've never been asked for anything, even when I came off and reclaimed a few months later a while back??

Is everyone getting these bank reviews? Am I just lucky? Are they random?? Anyone else NOT had one?

I know a couple of people who haven't had a review at all and have been claiming for a long time. I'm not really sure how they decide to review some people and not others. I have heard it's just a random selection, but it's difficult to say whether that's true or not.

I wonder if the community is a bit skewed considering that people come here directly to ask questions about reviews anyway. So perhaps that's a factor that makes it seem like there's lots of them happening all the time. It's an odd one!

    That's a good point I didn't think of that! Thanks @Rosie_Scope

I haven't heard a peep from UC apart from Winter Fuel Payment last year, other than that its just winter fuel payments each year in my journal. I've never been asked to send bank statements or prove anything.

I haven't been reviewed or asked for statements so far either…which is strange considering my capital changes every month and I've had a large rent increase as well.

I am wondering whether there's a marker on my claim now, after it was almost impossible for me to confirm ID when migrating. (Eventually and reluctantly a relative took my ID to the job centre after several weeks delay).

At the time, the work coach said I'd always be assigned to her (which we all know is untrue for anyone on LCWRA!) but I do wonder whether she was able to put a marker on my claim before being unassigned to my case.

I'm also long overdue a reassessment. I would not be surprised to get a notification for either review or reassessment at any time now.

From what I've seen of reviews so far, I do believe some are random, some are triggered by changes, and it seems like once they've happened once, there is a higher chance of them happening again around 12 months later.

    Hi @Rosie_Scope.

I haven’t been on here for 6 months and just randomly logged in earlier. I migrated over at the end of March last year from ESA to UC and I’ve been left alone since I had my new style esa appointment a few weeks after I moved over. All my payments have been correct etc and not had any contact on my journal since my new style esa appointment. It’s now coming up 11 months since I migrated over.

I haven’t been asked for bank statements or had a review yet either. I read something earlier on the national audit report from a few months back about the reviews. It stays this.

“3.18 Agents are allocated cases for review based on rules that are generated by using data and analytics to look for activity, behaviour or circumstances that suggest a higher risk of error. DWP also selects some cases for review at random to provide assurance that no new types of error are arising in the UC caseload.”

I was on ESA since 2010 when I left school and even during those past 15 years prior to my migrating move. I’ve never had a bank statement review and was left alone the entire time apart from 2 reassessments for ESA. I know a few other people who have been on UC or ESA for like 2 years or more or even 5 or 6 years or more and they haven’t been asked for bank statements at all the entire time. I’m starting to think most claims that get reviewed either haven’t done the claim properly or things like £6k/couples living together are the ones most likely being reviews. You have “staff” on Reddit who said everyone on means tested benefits are getting bank statement reviews every 6 months. Which going by this thread and people I know who are also on UC haven’t had one shows that’s nonsense.
