When the daily struggles are taking over

I want to re-apply for PIP as I feel like the daily struggles are taking over on the mobility front, as my arthiritis is getting worse, but I work too and I feel that I would be rejected. Any tips please?

Have you tried applying for PIP in the past and been rejected? If so how long ago did you make your previous claim and were you awarded any points? Did you have a telephone or face to face assessment ? If so did you ask for a copy of the Consultation report?

    #@Carol730,

Hi Carol, when I applied for PIP (2023), I was declined but pursued to Tribunal which took several months I was fortunate and won my case, so it is worth trying again, especially if your condition(s) are deteriorating. Of course there is no guarantee but unless you try and persevere you not know if you will be successful or not.

As far as I am aware, you would be entitled to back pay if you are successful with your claim. Hope this may be of some 'help' to you. Good luck!

I am glad to hear you pursued it and won. When my daughter was rejected she just isn't have the energy to go through a fight. This year she is hoping to try again. If she got it she may well be able to keep working from home.

The MS society has some good PIP help publications. I spotted them when I was dropping off some of things at my local charity shop and the booklets seem helpful even if you have a different condition (I don't have MS).

I'm still at the beginning of the process as I found it hard enough to do the DWP ESA work capability process. Although it was stressful they did put me in the support group. This has helped.

Good luck with your PIP application.

The fact that you work has absolutely no bearing on whether you will be successful - PIP is not an out of work benefit !

I have PIP and i work from home. I cut down from full time to 22 hrs. PIP has allowed me to do that.Don't think work ever came up for me in the questions because I have such limited mobility I qualified under other headings. I'd try it.
