Hi . Im needing some advice on uc as me and my partner have been together for two years this year . He has been living at his mums home and i live in my council home with my adult son who now is autisic . We would like to move in together and we both get uc i also get housing benifit and council tax benifit . Im just worried what happens when i change my single claim to a joint and what happens to my joural and statements from my single claim does my partner see my single claim when we do a joint one ? . How much would we get as im disabled .i hope someone can put my mind at rest.

You can try a benefits calculator to estimate your joint award, fill it in as though you are already living together.

Alternatively a local welfare rights organisation can help with advice.

Council Tax Reduction is decided on at a local level and each local authority has different rules for this, meaning it's very hard to advise on individual cases from here.
