Hi , I’ve been diagnosed with Epilepsy and Macula eye degeneration .

I receive DLA /lcwra/ wages 12 hours and universal credit

I’m single no housing benefit .

My eye is getting worse and I may have to give up work .

What benefit will I be entitled to would it be universal credit with lcwra allowance or I don’t understand esa .

Obviously I’m going to keep working as long as I can .

Been at my job 23 years ?

Hi @Cherryhogs67, welcome to the community. Hope you're well today ☺️

You may be entitled to New Style ESA if you stopped work depending on a few different factors. The eligibility requirements are listed on their website, so that might be worth a read: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-style-employment-and-support-allowance

It might be a good idea to speak to a benefits adviser to see what you'd be eligible for if you weren't able to work any more. They'll be able to have a look at your current benefits and see what might change. Turn2Us has a useful tool for finding local help: https://advicefinder.turn2us.org.uk/

Are you getting any support at work for your disability? For example, reasonable adjustments to help you cope with your conditions at work.

    Hi,

If you've only been working part time for the past year or two then you won't have enough NI contributions for New Style ESA entitlement.

As you're already getting UC with LCWRA that is the maximum out of work benefit you can get and won't be affected by stopping work now.
