PIP REVIEW TEXT HEALTH PROFESSIONAL

Hi

I’m wondering if anyone can help with advice.
My Pip review forms were due back by the 19th Feb 26, as my carer was filling them in with lots of evidence. It took a while and she sent them the day before the deadline on the 18th Feb 26. As tracked next day delivery to arrive on the 19th. Anyway the next morning of posting on the 19th I received a text stating

About your PIP review. The health professional has sent us their report.

We will make a decision on your PIP, but it may take 6 weeks before you hear from us.

You will continue to get PIP while your award is being reviewed.

You only need to contact us if your circumstances change.

This was at 9.45am surely the form wouldn’t have been received and a health professional gone through it that quickly?? Has anyone else any knowledge of this type of thing?
kind regards x

hi everyone that has replied so far. My carer rang in this morning at 9am. According to her the lady said that apparently if they don’t get the form ahead by at least a week, they make a start looking at the old form and evidence? But said additionally that she can confirm my form came yesterday and it will be looked at too?
I’m hoping my carer hasn’t relayed the wrong info to me as she gets a bit forgetful too. I struggle with Aphasia amongst other things otherwise I’d have liked to call myself for reassurance being solid.

It sounds ok and as you all know it can be a stressful struggle at the best of times. If any else has had this situation and text please add to this thread.

Have a good day all and spring is around the corner on the upside xxx

    hi Willow1

yes that is correct. I haven’t a clue why they sent me that text. My other friend rang them today but the guy didn’t seem to know what was what? He seemed to struggle to answer questions which is a worry when dealing with important matters.
Eventually he worked out that they had the form sent on the 18th arrived on the 19th. Bit at first he said we received the form you sent in January, the reply to him was we didn’t send it in January.
I think eventually he worked out it was sent to me January as an extension.
He said it’s all ok, he was asked if it’s in the start now of the process and he said I’m not sure. But if they need anything you’ll hear???

Well erm? It was difficult to entirely work out if ok or not. But my friend did log the name, call time and date. I presume they record the calls?

Hi @willow1 - it sounds like it has been decided that you will have what's called a 'paper based' review, which may be due to info they already have about you. These usually (but not always) have a positive outcome, so try not to worry. The text you received is therefore a standard one in such circumstances.

It's important to know that when you ring the DWP you're speaking to call handlers who may often not be able to advise. If the DWP later need to contact you to ask a few questions before making a decision, they will.

We may contact you for more info or you may need an assessment with health professional before we make a decision. Wewill contact you again if you do, you will continue to get your PIP while your award is being reviewed. you only need to contact us if your circumstances change.

That is a standard text they send to acknowledge receipt of your claim.

@Akhtar64 Hi no other communications as yet.
    Which text did you receive?
I never received one at all saying “we have received your forms” it was just the one off “we have your health prof report”

I’m awaiting the ping sound for the next communication hopefully a positive outcome

@Akhtar64 ah that should be a normal text you have received then.
so yours are in the process.

I’m just baffled because I didn’t have the same text as you, just the health professional text.

It’s kinda thrown me, it’s an anxiety raising process as it is.

Good luck with your journey x

    @tritongal

"We have your health prof' report" usually means its with a decision maker at the DWP

@luvpink hi yes but this came literally the next morning after I posted my form as a next day tracked delivery.
It was a bit quick at 8.50am The only thing they may have done an assessment based on my forms sent the previous few years ago?

It sounds like a paper based assessment but you would have had to complete the usual new assessment form.

They wouldn't just go by forms you submitted a few years ago because your circumstances may have changed and you have to prove that you still meet the criteria to be awarded pip

Hi everyone that responded to my initial post above.
A huge relief has landed! I have been awarded my enhanced award on both elements which is the same as before. But this time as an indefinite period.
This all was done in less than 2 weeks! They must have took a look at my old paperwork and glanced at my new and made a decision upon that.
My carer helped with the new review forms and she sent in loads of evidence medical and photos of an injury as a result of my condition.
we sent some of the old duplicate evidence too. Even though it was a review we answered each question in depth and added extra on separate papers.
We are not sure if that was even looked at or whether it was just the old one they used as time was ticking on after 3 extensions.

Anyway note is make sure you call and check if any concerns and have faith 😘 Sending hugs to all
