Motability vehicle advice

My husband's motability car is due for return 8th March 27. But he can look for a new vehicle from December 26. His PIP assessment isn't due until November 27, will this effect him getting another vehicle. He has had High rate PIP for nearly 7 years, and due to his health conditions think it will be renewed. But just wanted to ask if he'd be without a vehicle from March 27.
TThank's In advance for any help

Hi,
The rules have changed on this. As he is an existing Motability customer, your husband does not need to have 12 months remaining on his PIP award. Only new Motability customers need 12 months now.
