Awaiting tribunal and adding more info
Hi I am waiting on a tribunal date . I have had issues for at least 17 years and one of the issues I’ve finally had an mri for and found to have answers for a lot of what’s happening to me. Can this new info for this old issue be added to the appeal documents OR is it only up until the day I applied for pip info that’s relevant? Thank you

Hi @Dendoo you can send any new evidence to the tribunal for consideration. Especially if this might help support what's in your initial claim.
The other option is to begin a whole new claim depending on how impactful this new information is to your initial claim.

Thank you so much for the reply . It will certainly support what I applied for . Didn’t even know you could apply for pip again while waiting. Learn something new every day lol. Thank
You

It can be quite complicated and the new PIP submission and will likely impact your tribunal as it creates a closing period which means if the tribunal is won, you'll only be awarded up to the date of your new claim so if you think your tribunal will be successful, it might be better to send the documentation as additional backing.

Hi @Dendoo - it sounds like your MRI (I hope it wasn't Cauda Equina Syndrome) gave some answers as to a problem you already had so it is indeed relevant to add info about this to your appeal. You therefore wouldn't need to start a new claim, & here's hoping your tribunal is successful & that you get a date for it soon!

hi ty for your reply . Yes I got scanned because of red flags. Worsening symptoms . Things were picked up from the scan which made a lot of sense and answered a lot of my symptoms …. At last! I’ve not got report or spoke to Gp yet but I’m not disappearing no more ! I keep checking nhs app no results on it yet if there ever will be 🤷♀️ when I spoke to
Hospital dr he told me to get the report from
The Gp.
I’ve no intention of starting a new claim this one’s had me ‘ill’ to start off with hence why I’m seeing it through not going through all that for to walk away . X

Hi @Dendoo - I don't know if this will help, but it's something I have often used with great results. I have found consultant's secretaries always very helpful. If you don't have their number, then just ring the hospital & ask to speak to this consultant's secretary then ask if they can email/post you a copy of the consultant's letter to your GP. I don't think I've ever given a reason other than once my GP hadn't as yet received the report, but it's up to you if you say you need it for an upcoming benefits tribunal.
Going forward, if a consultant doesn't say they'll send you a copy of their report to your GP, just say that you'd like to receive a copy.
Good for you with continuing appealing to a tribunal; I'll start gently crossing everything when you know the date of your tribunal, if that's OK to ask.

Hi thank you he actually told me to get a copy off my GP . Will wait a few more days cos I only found out cos I rang the hospital to ask if it had been sent to the Gp yet . Then a Dr rang me back and told me about the main things seen but I’d like to see the full report myself because I was told things about a spine X-ray I had many years ago that led to nowhere . I want to see these things that I know will show on Mri too on the report . How or can I get copies of old X-rays at all and how? Ty x

Sorry @Dendoo - I'm not sure how to get copies of an older X-ray, but perhaps the report you're waiting for will mention the findings about this tho your up to date MRI may prove more valuable.
I can't remember now how it happened (it was many years ago), but I got copies of both my son & I's MRIs without asking. I think I was rather fortunate in being kept in the loop as I used to be a physio & (on the whole) I met some very good Drs who were kind enough to help me in working out our family's problems.
If you know which hospital did your X-ray, & approximately when, then it might be worth ringing up to enquire if it's possible to get a copy.

yea your right they will show . After all these years I’m just biting at the bit to have what I’ve always known in front of me . Long long long messy story x
