There's a place in Town called Sarni's that I discovered years ago, they do a really nice coffee for about 2 and half quid.

Welcome to the community @mate. If you're looking at the chains, I prefer Costa for coffee over Starbucks or Cafe Nero but it's quite personal depending on your taste! Do you live by some nice independent coffee shops?

Starbucks can be good, it just depends on the atmosphere of the shop.
The ones in Sheffield tend to be a bit bland IMO, but the coffee's not bad.

I used to like Starbucks for their iced coffee but now all the chains have taken over, stifling the small, independent tea & coffee shops, I hunt for those smaller places. Sick of seeing American chains taking over, now there's even a Wendy's opened up in the city.
Was actually looking for one last night & found another local had opened up, will be trying it later today.

I used to only have the very occasional Starbucks, as nowhere else did iced coffee at the time. Shame that you never go out further afield. At least Gus gets you out.
Never made it out to try the coffee shop, the lift still wasn't working, so no vet visit for Hattie either, they were very good, so there tomorrow. As the little girl next door has just been around to say the lift is actually working.

Not so good for you, @Chris75_. I suppose I'm lucky, at least, it's the only good thing about not living rurally. I have a choice of busses at the end of my road that take me as far as my bod allows. Which is a near town & the city, plus the hospital, all about a 10min trip & that's my limit for bus travel.

I'm really sorry you had a difficult experience. I actually had my first solo train journey in my wheelchair & first solo trip to London, I'm thankful that from start to finish, it went very smoothly. I'm now planning a second when the price is right. Erβ¦were you a bad driver? π There have been a couple of moody grunters & ramp slammers, but the majority are brilliant. The busses though, now that's a different story.
Managed to get to the coffee shop today, staff were lovely. They had some wonderful droolworthy cakes, that I did't have, just drooled! The coffee was good & the bonus was, I could sit outside in the sun to drink it. π Oh & it's dog friendly, he asked if Hattie could have a treat & he then grabbed up a dog treat jar & gave her a couple. π Will be returning. Definitely worth trying an independent coffee shop.

I have a little dog friendly independent coffee shop by my house and I try to go every Saturday morning to have a bit of "me time" and just sit with a book or listen to a podcast and watch all the cute and spoilt dogs!!0
