Apparently it's of a real hotel in 2012 @Ross1975! Here's where I found it - Liminal Space. I played that video for all of 2 seconds and had to stop. It's too much for me! Although I do also really want to see it. Maybe I can watch it later with my husband ๐

Or maybe if you've had a few drinks you might then be able to watch it. I can see why these videos are unsettling, yet, I kind of find them comforting, I guess it's the escapism, it feels like somewhere where you could get a complete break from the real world and be as far away from the DWP as possible. ๐

Those pool pics are absolutely stunning, @Ross1975
@Rachel_Scope The video Ross posted totally freaked me out, so I'm with you on that! The only reason I could watch it is because it's on this forum and I trust the forum. Otherwise forget it. With that comfort, inasmuch as it freaked me out, I'm with you Ross in really enjoying the escapism ....and the intrigue and the mystery around every twist and turn of the camera. I have my noise-cancelling headset on, so the sound was really disturbing, really creepy - way inside my head! ๐คฃ

Here is another famous liminal space picture, all of the food in this supermarket is fake as it's a test facility.
Around a year ago I made this video which consists of liminal space pictures of supermarkets with creepy supermarket music.

Wow @Ross1975 that's a cool video!!! Super creepy! Especially with the music.
The staircases in your pool pics got me thinking of the artist Escher. Maybe some of the artwork of Escher is liminal. I can't confirm online. What do you think?

Yes I think there's some liminality there StarryEyed, they're nice pictures too especially the last one.

Welcome to liminal land.

Oh how flippin freaky Liminal Land is!!! So the breathing on video #1 with the crunching grass was too much. And the knocking?? Yikes! ๐ It reminds me how I felt back in the day watching the movie "Blair Witch Project".
Then video #2 was just ridiculous as it flipped from one intensely weird scene to a completely different one, so there was no time to adjust to any scene. Has my head spinning!
So this has got me wondering about liminal personalities. Two actors who come to mind as perfect examples are Jack Nicholson and Christopher Walken. Anyone have any thoughts on that? Ross?

Hey, StarryEyed, I find it hard to imagine what a liminal personality would be like, maybe it would just be 'blank' with not much there, like a liminal space?

A waiting room for what I wonder? Is it even a waiting room?
0 -
That's a spooky one @Ross1975. It actually reminds me of a room I waited in to have a Covid jab back in lockdown. Eerie! Is this one you've generated with AI?

Hi, Rosie_Scope, yes it's another one I generated with Ai.

Those are fabulous shots, @Ross1975 !!! So the first is definitely a place for lectures to the cult members. The second is the bathroom for the cult members. ๐
As to thinking about liminal personalities, I just mean that these are people who can give the same vibes as a liminal space. So like someone who is way out there, weird, eerie, creepy, unpredictable, highly unusual, difficult to connect with... Along those lines. Those are the types of characters that Christopher Walken and Jack Nicholson are famous for. I looked online to see if there is such a thing as liminal personalities and there's not much there. Anyway. Just saying.
Here's a cool space...
(Yikes ๐ณ)

I don't like that at all @StarryEyed ๐ Things in water creep me out. Have you heard of submechanophobia? It's the fear of partially or fully submerged man-made objects.
A liminal personality is such a fascinating concept! I totally see what you mean about Jack Nicholson's characters having one. He has such an unsettling and expressive face.

@StarryEyed, I can't even imagine what that place could be, but it looks cool. ๐
There's actually going to be a Backrooms movie coming out in a few months. Here is the trailer for it. I still can't get over the fact that I have a piece of wallpaper and carpet from the real place, which is what started it all.

@Rachel_Scope I had never heard of submechanophobia. So is are you just creeped out or is it an actual phobia?
@Ross1975 that trailer alone is terrifying. Absolutely not going to go. Nope. Never. Na-ah.
Is anyone tempted to enter here?...

@Ross1975 about your backroom artwork, added to the sentimental value is that Albus saw it and commented on it. ๐

@StarryEyed it just creeps me out, not a phobia luckily. I think I'll pass on the free hugs in there thanks ๐
