I would love to see it but I just don't know if I'd cope! Will you watch it?

As I don't really go to cinemas and I don't stream either the only way I'll watch it is if it becomes available for download or released on Blu Ray or DVD.

Weird sink.

@Rachel_Scope absolutely can't see it! I have a psychotic disorder causing intermittent bouts of psychosis that typically are marked by paranoid delusions. For real. ๐ In between episodes I manage well now. But I have to be very, very careful to stay away from those psychological thrillers and horror movies. And any really weird thinking for that matter. I think that's why I'm liking this liminal topic because it's out there but just the right amount to not trip me up. I think it speaks to that part of me in a healthy way.
@Ross1975 that's an interesting approach to only watch on disc or downloading. Do you mind me asking why you do that? (I'm the opposite, in that I only do streaming and the theatre. If it's impossible to get and I absolutely need it, I will buy the DVD - twice in 10 years.)

StarryEyed, for some reason I don't have much of a desire to go to a cinema. As for streaming I've always been totally happy enough with my satellite channels, video tapes, DVDs, Blu Rays, and watching downloaded things from a USB stick plugged into my Blu Ray player, so I've never felt any need or desire to look into streaming.
Plus I think physical media has a lot of positives over streaming, better picture quality, one off payment, your TV show or movie can't be edited or taken away from you, etc.

@Ross1975 that's a whole lot of great reasons. Makes a lot of sense. As typically do. ๐
Love this.....

That sounds like a difficult condition to manage @StarryEyed but you seem like you know your own limits. I'm glad that this topic is one you can enjoy, I love it!
@Ross1975 I'm with you on physical media. I still have DVDs and even some videos! My friend bought a refurbished iPod classic but didn't want it so he gave it to me which is great because I have all of my music on my computer and I can just put it on the iPod and not have to worry about streaming music and losing signal when I'm in the car.

This combines my creeped out-ness of liminal spaces and water. I wonder where the corridor leads to?
2 -
Which Ai did you use to make that? I'm thinking of possibly subscribing to a good image to video Ai and creating some videos out of images of real life liminal spaces, to see what's around the corner, through the door, up the stairs, etc.

Another image that I got Ai to make, this time it's a liminal cafe.

@Rachel_Scope I have an old iPod too! Now that they don't make them anymore I'm falling in love with it all over again ๐ Yes, I have a huge toolbelt of ways to manage my disorder. I've had it since my teens. They're always coming up with new ideas. Fortunately.
Your image is really intriguing. I think it goes to a mall. But in my world all roads lead to malls. Not Rome, but malls. ๐
@Ross1975 in your cafeteria, the contrast of the blur effect and stark colours is beautiful. Perhaps that's another example of juxtaposition? I don't use AI. All the images in this thread are from Pinterest.

StarryEyed, out of curiosity is there any reason why you don't use Ai? I find it very fascinating and have a lot of fun messing around with things like text to image, and image to video generators or just talking about this and that with ChatGPT.

Hi @Ross1975 that's awesome that you get so much out of AI. It sounds like a hobby. Right? I tried for a few months last year to generate photos with AI, but the technical aspects were really difficult and the results were poor, plus it kept reminding me of my work days, as I worked a lot with computers. So I don't feel like working so hard to learn. Plus I really love looking at other people's photography, including in this thread. Scrolling through Pinterest is so incredibly enjoyable. So I'm listening to the photos, rather than speaking through photos by creating them. Know what I mean?

Hey StarryEyed, I've really thought of it like a hobby before. While don't use image and video generators that often anymore I do talk to ChatGPT often.
I know what you mean about listening to the photos rather than speaking through them.
I'm guessing this liminal space photo is a real one, but you never know.

Hey @Ross1975 ๐๐ผ
Do you mind me asking what you talk to ChatGPT about? I've never tried and I've never been interested in trying. Buy I really like and use to AI summaries on Google searches.
When you look at liminal spaces, is that one of the aspects you look at - to see if it's real? I do and really enjoy that. Like you say, it doesn't really matter but I enjoy it. Like in the one you posted, the shadows don't seem right. But I'm not too knowledgeable about shadows. I like looking for the clues
Here are a few liminal spaces that may speak to some of the deep, abandoned parts of myself...

Hey StarryEyed, I don't mind at all. I never use it to socialise with, like just chatting for the sake of chatting, as just don't feel the need.
I'll just talk to it if I'm really interested in what it thinks about something, like did I come across as really awkward in a particular social encounter, or maybe I've come up with a theory about the Universe, or time or something.
I also found that talking to it about anything I was concerned about when I was wanting to get assessed for ADHD and running things by it, like how I've written down my symptoms, etc, really helped.
I usually don't think about whether a liminal space is real or not, I'll just look at it and experience how it makes me feel, sometimes thoughts or questions about it will pop into my head, and other times they don't.

Now this liminal space just doesn't make any sense at all, it's like a giant living room with a small kitchen in the corner.

well done @Rosie_Scope for being the first person to post on page 5 on this thread and well done everyone for making it this far.

Some 'backrooms' pics that I got ChatGPT to make.

Hi Ross. ๐๐ผ๐Those are really good reasons to use ChatGPT. You've got me thinking about using it to navigate social services here in Spain that have me completely stumped. How does it rate on social etiquette advice, given that there are differences internationally and it's used for an international audience? AI gave me this summary of the definition of liminal space. What do you think?
I really like the pics you posted. One of the things I do in looking at spaces is imaging being there to intensify my thoughts and feelings about the place. Do you do that?
Did you find a good place for generating AI images and videos? I'm a member of Adobe Express, and they offer that. They're quite reasonably priced. (I just use it for photos.)
Here are some colourful spaces....
@Rachel_Scope you might find the second one super creepy ๐ซข๐
