Pip help
Hi . So i put a claim in for pip . Im diagnosed c-ptsd and endometriosis. Im currently on week 8 of having the text "a health professional is looking at your claim " so my question is im starting to really worry now about the assessment my psychiatrist said this (
has a history of severe, prolonged trauma. This has resulted in significant and enduring difficulties across emotional, cognitive, social, and behavioural domains. Her symptoms include marked distress, impaired concentration, intrusive trauma memories, hypervigilance, dissociation, and substantially reduced capacity to tolerate everyday stressors. These difficulties severely limit her ability to function independently and consistently within society in a way that would allow her to maintain employment or manage work-related demands.
Although she is currently engaging in intensive treatment, it is important to clarify that engagement in therapy does not equate to functional recovery, nor does it imply imminent improvement to the extent that daily-living difficulties are resolved. Complex PTSD, particularly where trauma has been chronic and long-term, typically requires extended periods of treatment. The trajectory of recovery varies considerably, and there is no guarantee that symptoms will fully remit. At this stage, her symptoms remain significant and continue to substantially affect her daily life.) Shes said alot more explaining about me .
Im really now struggling with the thought of a assessment, I understand they have to question me . But I dissociate so much and im worried tbis will happen while on the phone . Ive sent alot of medical evidence , i also have lwrca to , . Its keeping me awake through the nights worrying more the time goes on . Ive also read so many horror stories so is there anyone out there in the same position as me . Willing to calm my anxiety. Thankyou for taking time reading x

Hi please try not to focus on "horror stories", they may not even be true and not relevant to your own application.

Hi @mayamy95
I understand why you're feeling so overwhelmed, the PIP process can be anxiety inducing.
If you do have to have an assessment aand if you feel comfortable you can inform the assessor about your dissociation. You can also request adjustments, such as breaks during the assessment, to help manage your anxiety during the assessment. It can also be helpful and reassuring to bring somebody with you if you do have to have an assessment.
I know it's much easier said than done but like Luvpink said, please try not to focus on the horror stories as so often we only hear about peoples negative experience and never the positive ones.0 -
Thankyou both for your comments .
I think the more time goes on the more anxious im becoming x
