UC journal
We had an entry on our journal today asking us if myself and hubby still get NS ESA and carers allowance which we still do. Do I need to reply back saying we do on the journal if so how do I do it. They said if we no longer get the benefits to contact the relevant departments. Tyia

Hello @snuggles65
Is the message titled “Other benefits affecting your Universal Credit”? If so, it should state that you need to inform them if you are no longer receiving those benefits or if the information they hold is incorrect.
If it is not that standard message, it is difficult to advise without seeing the content. However, if a response is required, adding a note to your journal should be sufficient.

Hi Adrian
It does say "other benefits affecting your universal credit"
It does say contact relevant departments if we no longer get them. So do I need to put something on my journal to say we still get them? Which section do I need to use ie payments, change of circumstances etc.

Hello @snuggles65
It sounds like the generic message triggered at the end of an assessment period which just confirms they have a record of your overlapping benefits. If the details on it are correct and show both the Carer's Allowance and Employment and Support Allowance for the person that gets it, then you don't need to do anything. You only need to contact them if the information is incorrect.
So for example it should say:
Our records show that YOUR NAME is getting:
Employment and Support Allowance (or Carer's Allowance, depending which you claim)
Our records show that HUSBAND'S NAME is getting:
Carer's Allowance (or Employment and Support Allowance, depending which he claims)
and then some other information.

If they are the automated messages then no response is needed.
It's just a way of reminding you to keep your circumstances up to date.
I get them a few times a year sent between 2-3am 😆
