Back in the day I had a garage racked out with tanks sadly those days are gone and now I keep one pair at a time and any young I pass on to my son he has about 300 in a rather large tank as for recognising you yes they can and most like to feed out of your hand and allow you to pet them

Never been a lover of them to be honest my son likes them I believe they were named by the original breeder who smoked said cigarettes
