Sorry but I have to disagree. When the text is all the same size and all crammed together it's more difficult to read.
Scope need to consider everyone's vision requirements to work out what's best for the majority of users. Not just yours or mine.

We truly appreciate your feedback and your patience as we worked through a few issues over the past couple of days.
In the long term, we plan to streamline the “Recent Discussions” and “Categories” pages so they more closely reflect the layout seen yesterday, but it is not our intention to do this suddenly and we want to do it without altering font sizes or accessibility features.
Accessibility is at the forefront of everything we do. While this sometimes means changes take a bit longer to implement, it also ensures that our platform remains readable and easy to use for everyone.
Occasionally, unexpected updates from our platform provider can unintentionally disrupt some of the custom accessibility tools we’ve built, but we are actively working to resolve these issues.
Please be assured that accessibility, readability, and ease of use remain our top priorities when it comes to layout and functionality.

No BlueBell21..there's nothing there anymore, unless it's because I've slow post punished, and that's part of it. Because my post's don't appear for hours after, I've no way of editing anything.Over to you Adrian Scope?.

As explained yesterday, I cannot adjust my eyesight but other readers can magnify what look like small letters to them.

New accounts, and accounts currently undergoing moderation, do not have the ability to edit their posts.
This is primarily for safeguarding reasons. For example, if someone has their comments queued so we can closely monitor their posts, we may approve a comment based on its original content. If they were then able to edit that post afterwards, we might not immediately notice the change, which would undermine the purpose of placing their comments in moderation.

Unfortunately it's not just the size of the letters, it's the compact layout as well. My vision issues can't be corrected by magnifying either.

I don't know what your 'vision issues' are when it comes to reading. I would describe what we now have as compact so I'm sorry for not understanding the problem with streamlining the forum layout.

Hello @OverlyAnxious, this is something we aware of and will be mindful of. Alongside the font issues, some of the problems yesterday were due to 'visual crowding' which is something we will always try to avoid.

No problem. Sadly I don't have a name for these issues either. I did try to get an eye test back in 2019 but it wasn't very comprehensive, I couldn't keep my body still enough for some of the test machines, couldn't verbally explain myself properly, and was ultimately a complete waste of both my time and theirs.
It's continued to get worse since then, to the point where I can't really use anything with a screen now without triggering immediate eye strain, followed by vertigo if I keep trying to read it. It's prevented me from changing mobile phone, changing TV, using a new washing machine with a screen, using an electricity monitor, even using a modern radio screen in a parked car.
It looks like Adrian's mention of visual crowding is definitely part of it. (Too much in one small space being overwhelming). But in my case even a change of font shape can trigger it at the same size so magnification isn't useful there. I assume my vision issues are not common, but presumably at the worse end of a spectrum.

I wonder if what you describe is 'astigmatism'. Have you heard of this? Mine was identified as a child and was most problematic when ironing my dad's striped or patterned shirts - made me feel dizzy/nauseous.
I've also had decades of incorrect prescriptions and meltdowns in opticians because I couldn't explain myself. It's always been stressful so you are not alone there.
Astigmatism can be corrected with simple prescription lenses - you can't buy these off the shelf.

Yes I do have an astigmatism, that was the only thing found during the eye test. I got a pair of prescription glasses for it but I couldn't adapt to those either unfortunately.
If I can move to a more accessible/larger property then a home visit eye test is one of the first things I intend to have done, but it's not possible in my current flat and I can't travel anywhere else now.

OA I've had dozens and dozens of wrong prescriptions over the years - for astigmatism and myopia - which caused me immeasurable distress. Talk about invisible disabilities!
My current lenses were not perfect but are the most corrective I've ever worn. Unfortunately, this optometrist left the practice and I can't face trying again. Even The Institute of Optometry couldn't get my prescription right!
Find an independent practice for the best service but there's none I can recommend.
