PIP decision made after a week with no assessment

Currently on standard for both, started to struggle more, walking became more difficult so decided to redo my forms

Forms recieved 2 weeks ago and decision made today, no assessment, no phone call

Worried it’s been to quick

    Different circumstances, but I had my renewal last year. Started in April and I got a message around Autumn time to say that they'd made a decision. Really panicked me as I hadn't had a reassessment or any kind of communication with them, but I got awarded the same level as I had previously.

    Please don't quote me on this being accurate, but might give you some hope. Can't quite remember how it works, but you don't need to speak to anyone. You either press a number or it'll tell you when your next payment date is and the amount. This might be an indicator as to the outcome.

    You had what's known as a paper based assessment.

    This is done when the assessor (external or DWP Decision Maker) feels they have enough information to make a decision with minimal or even no further input from the claimant.

    A quick decision is not indicative of any particular outcome.

    The automated phone line has been known to give out inaccurate information.

    You could try the online proof of benefit service.

    The same thing happened to my partner.

    He had a paper based assessment.

    The decision letter arrived within two weeks with the outcome.

    Hoping it’s not bad news

    Last time I had to have a telephone assessment

    But this time I sent more info letters from physio to say about pain killers I’m on, and how it’s got worse over the last 12 months hoping that backs up my claim

    Yes, mine was the same, really fast, and it said "for an indefinite period".

    Your able to download your pip letter from gov.uk/proof of benefits this will give you your award letter
