Waiting a long time for an appt for Cardiologist
Was diagnosed with afib Dec 2025 haven't seen anyone apart for GP, i'm terrified of this condition and what has caused it. No answers and horrible medications thrown at me with awful side affects. My appt is 6 months away. Does anyone know how to get an earlier appt.

Hi @Afibber Are your GP still regularly in contact to check-up on how you're doing and your symptoms whilst your waiting for this appointment? I'd suggest giving them a call to explain how you're feeling - especially if you've noticed any changes in your condition. Hopefully they can give you some reassurance or extra support if needed.

You can contact the clinic and ask to be put onto the cancellation list.

The gp has phoned a couple of times to see how I'm coping on meds but no real help, also I asked the hospital to put me on a cancellation list.

If you're having side effects, it's important to raise this with your GP as soon as possible, or 111. Also, I'd advise your GP that you've cancelled your appointment with your cardiologist.
