New to this site, I am a widow of 4y fast approaching my 70th birthday, I live in Lincolnshire, I had to move in 2024 as my landlady was selling the home I had lived in with my late hubby for 13y, so being on my own, which I hate, I moved closer to my son and 4 of the 7 grandchildren I have, they have been a godsend to me, I also have a daughter who is back where I used to live and miss her, it's only about an hour away so I do pop back now and again, easier for me than her, I also visit my great granddaughter who will be 2y this year, wish my late hubby had been here to meet her he would have loved to be a great grandad.

Welcome @Freedomlass. I'm sorry to hear about your husband but it sounds like you have a lovely large family, and so good that you're closer to them now. I'm guessing you spend a lot of time with your grandchildren? Sounds like they're very lucky to have you!

Do you like where you live and have you met your neighbours etc?

Thanks for the lovely welcome, yes I do like where I am now much smaller than before but once I get it how I want it will be a lot easier to manage than before, although I do struggle a lot more now than I did as my Osteoarthritis is getting worse now spreading into my hands which is very painful, also COPD so I'm stuffed either way.

That's hopefully easier for your to maintain. With struggling a little more, have you thought about some additional support to help with maintaining your home or anything else you might need?

@Holly_Scope yes I am or will be looking into it, my son has been helping where he can in the small garden once finished there won't be any lawns or hedges etc. that will need doing anymore, I'm still unpacking trying find where to store things as I don't have a spare room or a garage anymore but once that is straight then I'll look at getting a cleaner in for help.
