I swear - John Davidson's Story of Severe Tourette's Syndrome
Has anybody else seen this movie? I watched it the other evening and it's such a fantastic, eye opening watch.
It's the story of a Scottish Man and his struggles from adolescence to adulthood, self acceptance and advocacy. His story is both heartbreaking and heartwarming.
What an incredible man!

I watched it, Friday evening. I rarely watch a film from beginning to end but this was worth it. Very moving.

I haven't seen it, but remember the recent outrage over a guy with Tourette's shouting racial obscenities at a BBC Awards do? Certain people went barmy till it was revealed the guy has Tourettes and can't help what he says/does.

I discovered it tonight on Netflix and I will watch it soon.

This was such a good film! I really enjoyed it.
This film is about the same person they're talking about in the news @SheffieldMan1976. John Davidson was there as the film was nominated for a few different awards at the BAFTAs. One of his tics contained a racial slur and was still broadcast on the TV coverage of the event. There's been a lot of criticism in the news over how it was handled by various different parties involved.
But in some ways, what happened at the BAFTAs really brings up some of the issues raised in his film and how important it is to educate people about Tourette's. It's well worth a watch if you get a chance!

But make sure you've got the tissues on hand! I love Dottie too - what an amazing woman.
