I GOT A SCAM TEXT RE PIP

I AM A APPOINTEE

OF COURSE INDID NOT CLICK ON LINK

I RANG DWP PIP

PASSED ALL SECURITY NOTHING CHANGED ON MY ACCOUNT

I ASKED IF IT WAS DWP SAID NO

BUT THANKYOU FOR LETTING US KNOW .... BUT !!

SSAID WILL SEND TO DO A CHECK ON MY CLAIM ...

WHATS THIS

WILL IT BE A TRIGGER FOR A REVIEW NOT DUE TILL 2031 !!

AND WILL MY CHILDS PAYMENTS STOP

WISH I NEVER TOLD DWP BUT WAS CONCERNCED

IS IT ANYTHING TO WORRY ABOUT ?

    Hi

    Its probably just for them to check to see if they can establish who sent you the "scam text"

    You could ring them again and clarify what they meant by "send a to do to check your claim".

    Hi @Tonight, sorry to hear you had one of these. I've had similar scam texts that said they were from the DWP but nothing ever happened afterwards. It can be really worrying but it sounds like you did the right thing by ringing to check.

    I don't think this would trigger a review of your claim at all as it hasn't changed your circumstances.

    As luvpink mentions, they might just be checking things are still secure. If you're worried, the best thing to do would be to give them a ring and speak to them again. Hopefully they'll be able to clear things up for you ☺️
