PIP MR

Good morning,

With regards to the one month MR deadline I am not sure how it work as I read on a website that you have 13 months to submit MR not the 1 month as DWP says. IF I inform DWP now the clock starts ticking and they can set a deadline for the final MR decision before I get to send my evidence. At the moment, I am not very well and going through medical investigations. My son is also starting his A level exam and very stressed as the MR is for him. I do not know what to do at the moment as we need time to find CAB to get advice and the queue for that is very long. I would be grateful if anyone can clarify this 1month and 12 month thing please.

You have 13 months, but if submitting it "late" (after 1 month) you will be asked the reason why.

Thank you Kimi87. I am just not sure how it works. Is it that after the one month I have to explain why the MR request was late?

Do i need to send a letter now or I can wait as the deadline is in 2 days and i doubt if the letter will get their on time. also I am trying to get a CAB appointment for advice.

Yes it is just after 1 month that you will likely be asked why the MR is "late".

You can wait until you are ready to submit the MR.
