Where do you advertise for a PA
Our last one has just quit. She was good, but as clients we were a bit of a sideline.
We've had one new applicant fall through, who looked hopeful.
We've got an advert/jobdescription on PA pool, Nextdoor, various FB groups..
Any suggestions on other places would be great..

Hi,
A few years ago I was told to post a job advert on the Job Centre website. I think it's now called 'find a job' on the .Gov website.
I didn't feel safe posting a job for a PA to random strangers so I never did it in the end but might be another option for you to consider.

Hi @JW77. There's some information here about different places you can advertise for a PA Disability Rights - Searching for a PA. I hope you manage to find someone suitable.

I'd ask social services, don't just employ some random from social media, sure they could end up being Mary Poppins (Super Nanny) but they're just as likely to end up being the Nanny from Hell.
Also, they'd have to pass Enhanced DBS disclosures to work with anyone classed as "vulnerable", which in most cases, the employer pays for and they ain't cheap.

Social services don't provide a PA type service, at least not in my area. Their services are very limited, only helping to wash, dress and make a basic meal for a short time each day. If you want or need help with anything else, you have to employ a PA from outside of the council/government. I agree it doesn't seem safe or secure which is why I never took it further myself, but I can still just about manage and thousands of other people don't have a choice. I'm now reliant on one older family member, and when anything happens to them, I will be forced to try and find a PA myself. Just hope I'm not here long enough to reach that stage!
