☘️ Happy St Patrick’s Day! ☘️
The interesting origin of St Patrick
This stems back over 1000 years, traditionally in Celebration of St Patrick (Maewyn Soccat) bringing Chistianity to Ireland.
Maewyn Soccat had an incredible life. Born into a wealthy family in Roman Britain, at 16 he was captured by Irish Raiders who took him to Ireland to be a slave. At this time, he discovered religion.
He received a message in a dream which resulted in him escaping back to Britain where he became a priest. He then had another dream, and travelled back to Ireland to spread the word of Christianity.
Today, St Patrick’s Day is a celebrated across the world! Bringing community together with street parties and parades, people dressed in green and tucking into traditional Irish food and drink.
Does anybody have any plans to celebrate? If so, we’d love to hear them! ☘️
