Shocked - Dog breeds possibly being banned

More clickbait rubbish unfortunately.

All they want to do is help dogs live healthier lives. That means not allowing breeders to use dogs that are already struggling with health issues due to the way they've been selectively bred over the years. I'm sure you know some dogs suffer with breathing issues and others suffer with joint issues etc.

There is absolutely no proof that 67 breeds would be banned at all. None of these dogs would be put down. It's just that the most unhealthy dogs from certain breeds won't be allowed to breed further.

I'I've mentioned in another thread that i owned 2 Frenchies. Lovely dogs, but Frenchies have a lot of physical issues due to the breed being brachycephilac dogs. They can also have problems with mobility as well. This is about making sure those dogs are bred properly.

There's too many people who think of them as Insta dogs and only get them because they look cute.

Once I attended a talk held by a dog charity. The lady with all seriousness declared chihuahuas the most dangerous breed for elderly people. Reason: they are a trip hazard 😂

Had dogs all my life, collies , mixed. Two staffies, who were softest dogs. One of my cats I have now ,is more fearsome

I agree with you about the owners are at fault for bad or dangerous dogs, no matter what breed.

I was talking about those breeds that have inherent health problems that have been bred into them, for example, the flatter nosed breeds that now have awful breathing problems because we've manufactured them. Mother nature, on the whole, does a good job. We, on the otherhand, get it wrong, often.
