The Day I Realised Healing Isn’t Loud”

I didn’t have a “breaking point” the way people describe it in films.
No dramatic moment. No sudden collapse.

Mine was quieter.

It was waking up one morning and realising I was tired… not just physically, but deeply, mentally tired. The kind where even replying to a message feels like climbing a mountain. And the strange part? From the outside, everything looked fine.

I think that’s something we don’t talk about enough—how invisible mental health struggles can be.

I used to believe healing had to look big. Like huge changes, sudden motivation, or becoming a completely different person overnight. But honestly, my healing has been… small.

  • Getting out of bed when I didn’t want to
  • Drinking water instead of skipping meals
  • Sitting in silence without running from my thoughts
  • Allowing myself to feel things without judging them

And sometimes, just making it through the day was enough.

One thing that really helped me was understanding that I didn’t have to go through it blindly. I started reading more about what I was feeling, trying to understand my mind instead of fighting it.

That mattered more than I expected.

Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:

You don’t need to be “fully okay” to be making progress.

And being here, in a space like this, already says something about you. Whether you’re sharing, reading quietly, or just trying to understand yourself—you’re doing something important.

Some days will feel heavy. Some days will feel lighter. Both are part of the same journey.

So if today is one of those harder days, just know:
You’re not behind. You’re not failing. You’re human.

And sometimes, healing isn’t loud.
Sometimes… it’s just staying.
