PIP and university

Hi, I’m new here and mum to lovely son aged 18, moved from DLA to PIP 2 years ago. ADHD, autistic and Tourette’s. He started uni last Sept, only an hour away from home and returns every weekend by taxi. He has very nearly dropped out twice as he’s massively struggling on many levels. Can’t cope in shared accommodation so looking at studio flat next year (will use PIP to fund this). Can’t manage lectures as too crowded so catches up online in his room, does any lab work in tiny groups or one to one for same reason. Can’t manage any cooking at all, so I make and freeze all his meals. He lives off bowls of cereal without this. Does absolutely nothing financial and is terrified of money issues (extensive therapy around this). Really struggles to talk to people he doesn’t know. Can and has been extremely impulsive (major hand reconstruction 4 years ago due to this). So his care needs are definitely more obvious than at initial assessment. He’s also recently started ADHD meds. Not looking to increase award as still appropriate but worried that if I let them know he’s at uni, they will make incorrect assumptions and start a review. Still another 3 years to go til review. Any advice? Thank you ☺️

I wouldn't tell PIP that he is at university as this is not a change of circumstance that you need to report.

No, don't tell 'em anything they don't NEED to know.
