Hi, my name is Hammer72! Would they keep records from my previous LCWRA claim?

I was on lcwra since 2022. I went to prison for 30 days In Feb 2025. My claim closed so started another u.c claim. I missed the 6 month reconsideration for lcwra as was homeless and mental health still was the same as when first awarded. I managed to hand in fit notes from october 2025 and had my lcwra assessment on narch 25th 2026. Aswell as my mental health, being anxiety, depression and ptsd, I am also on methadone due too addiction. Would they have my previous medical records when awarded lcwra, and if successful again have I passed the 3 month wait period for any back pay. Thank-you for reading my question.

    Hi,

    Backpay depends on the dates of your Assessment Periods. But from the info provided it looks like you should get 2 to 3 months worth of backpay.

    You will also be getting the higher rate of LCWRA due to claiming before the rate gets cut next month.

    Also wanted some guidance about the fact I lost LCWRA due too short prison sentence and my claim closed. Had too open new one, I was told about the reinstatement for LCWRA but due to ongoing mental health and living in a tent homeless with my sister for almost 2 years I missed that deadline. Anyway had too start WCA all over again, fit notes etc, . My main question was do you think I would get LCWRA again seeing as nothings changed.. and apparently the DWP should also have digital records from my first medical assessment when I got LCWRA.     As it's a more complex issue I'd recommend contacting a local welfare rights organisation for advice from a trained benefits advisor.
