Hi Everyone, I'm Meenu and my husband Dheeraj , run a business. I’ve been struggling with mobility issues when I’m outside, and it’s starting to make everyday things quite difficult. I was wondering how others here manage when they’re out and about? Do you have any tips please share with me

Regards

Meenu and Dheeraj

Hi. I think it's difficult to give advice because we don't know much about your circumstances. Mobility issues could be because of, arthritic knees/hips, spinal problems, balance problems, other issues or a combination of factors. Whether you can take public transport, rely on a car, need assistance and what mobility aids you currently use.

If people ask about my circumstances, I think about it in terms of what barriers I have inside the house or getting out.

    Hi Meenu, welcome.

Small thing, here we're supposed to use anonymous usernames and avoid sharing information which could be used to identify ourselves. That's their rules and I agree that makes sense. Just a hint.

Your question about mobility is similar to "how long is a piece of string". There are countless different issues people have with mobility. My most recent wheelchair cost me £3,800 and it's a work of art, perfect for my needs. But it's crucially different to the wheelchairs I used before my leg was amputated, and it's unlikely to be suitable for you.

I suggest you consider a more anonymous username and then perhaps provide a little more detail at least about which aspects of outdoor mobility you intend. Kerbs? Snow tyres? Hills? Cobbles? Potholes? Getting into vehicles?

    That may help.

    Good luck
