Can anyone advise me please. My ESA has stopped I think I was in the group based on national insurance contributions. I have not received any notification in any form why it has suddenly stopped. I live in the republic of Ireland and cannot get through to any freephone number from here. I have tried 2 numbers that are not freephone and impossible to get through. Help!

Have you had a work capability assessment @flint? And did you receive and return a ESA50 form?

Don't use the non-freephone numbers. Only use the ones on any early letters you received from ESA.

I have received absolutely nothing no letter they do have all my details I'm completely stressed out. I have to go into hospital for urgent surgery on my foot ( hallux valgus) it's been left too long and I'm in constant pain! possibly after Easter. Should I go to job centre in Enniskillen not too far from where Iive? Thank you

How long have you claimed for and have you supplied them with fit notes @flint? If you can't get through to them by phone, speaking to them in person may help.

I was on ESA higher rate for many year's as I have chronic health issues. When labour came in I reduced to lower rate Ie: some capability to work even though I submitted medical reports saying the opposite. I'm almost 62 years and paid year's of taxes etc. It seems so unfair especially not being informed of the sudden cessation of my benifit. I could travel to northern Ireland job centre not too far from me. More taxi expenses I don't have. Had to borrow money from a friend!!

I'd definitely go the job centre if you're able to @flint. Something's gone wrong somewhere. Sorry you're having to go through this stress.
