Not sure what to put under
recently I had a debt letter in somebody elses name. The agency is CND agency their email is on official Gov website and is on the letter I opened. I emailed them with evidence that I was not the debtor but it returned automated telling that they can’t act without me giving my details including my mob number. I did what they said and got an identical email back. Out of stress I tried asking them to but a hold on the case until evidence is in. So there were a lot of emails giving them evidence that I was trying to reach out. Email is the best method of communication. Eventually I got an email back saying that my address has been removed from their system.
A phone call made on my behalf confirmed that they made checks and said that the debtor’s address has been found. However I had an email from one of the many automated emails I got back. I didn’t reply back. It means that my details has not been deleted. So my info is still out there. I acted out of stress and panic because the timeline for me to respond is short and their time to respond is long. I feel scared to complain or get in touch with them incase I get a new unnecessary paper trail created. Should I ignore them

Hi
You shouldn't have opened a letter sent to your address to some one else.
Personally I would have put the letter in the post stating 'Not known at this address' on the envelope.
I would not have emailed them let alone give them any of my personal details.
My advise is to ignore any future correspondence from them and if you are worried contact citizens advise to see what they can advise you to do.

I did send previous lettters back. It was scary because if I hadn’t of opened the letter I would have bailiffs round as since it appeared that named debtor ignored letter. I didn’t respond to latest email because of the bog standard as automated reply I they always give. Important thing for me is the found the debtor as ns her upto date address. But they haven’t deleted the emails I sent under pressure giving enough evidence to sink the titanic that I am not the debtor. Should I spam emails sent by them

If you hadn't opened the
letter you wouldn't have known it was from a debt agency but its done now.
Yes I would spam the emails and block them.

Sorry you've had to deal with this. It's a great idea to mark their emails as spam. You know that they've now got the correct address so you shouldn't have to deal with them anymore.

The whole thing is scary I could have had bailiffs at the door if I sent all letters back unopened. I know got to wait for all to emails I sent with bog standard automated responses to eventually com back to me. I just hope they delete all the emails my phone number email address adsociated with my account. My addressed my be removed but what the emails?

You could contact them again to request your email be removed. You've likely been added to a mailing list and they just haven't gone in and removed it. It's such a scary thought and not something you should have to deal with at all.
