So, on my Letter from my social sector landlord it states to inform UC of my rent rise on 6th April, Easter Monday, tomorrow, as its a Bank Holiday will i still get the prompt to do so on my journal? Or how will it work. Tia.

Hi @Doglover2 , I tried to put my rent and supported living charge on, on the 1st April, on my journal. It didn't accept it as increase as it's not effective until the 6th April so I've diarised to input it in Journal tomorrow morning. I don't expect to get a response (I didn't last year either).

I'm pretty confident it's not individual case managers manually triggering the To Do for their own caseload, this is an event that happens for particular claimants every year so it's probably coded into the UC algorithm so tomorrow being a Bank Holiday is likely irrelevant.

Of course if it's not there tomorrow then I'm wrong & and it should appear on Tuesday 😊

The journal still works during weekends and bank holidays. Automatic prompts can still come through. But if it doesn't then just check each day next week. As you're in social housing, it's better to wait for the prompt even if it's a few days late.

@Santosha12 @Kimi87 Thanks, I'll just keep an eye on my journal. I'm sure it shall appear at some point. Was hoping it was coded in, but I'm pretty new to UC having been migrated over only since the end of Sept last year. @OverlyAnxious was hoping it would automatically pop up so ill check again tomorrow, this is my first time doing the annual uprate for rent so I was a bit anxious when I saw no prompt yet.

So Thankful for you all advising me. X

Oh and something else, do you just state the amount its being increased by or do you have to upload the letter? Thanks.

I've only ever uploaded the increase via the Journal, split between rent and supported living. My scanner broke c 4 yrs ago so I've never uploaded the actual letter and that's just always been accepted.

I've only ever put the new entire figure.

With social housing, UC then contact the landlord direct to confirm what you've told them is correct anyway.

No upload is required by the claimant.

The prompt on the To Do list wouldn't be there yet because it's not yet the 6th April.

@Kimi87 my anxiety takes over, so i keep checking even though I know the 6th April hasn't arrived yet.

That's good to know its just a matter of stating the new amount thats on my housing letter and not having to upload it. Thank you.

Got the prompt on my UC Journal this morning, simple enough to do as long as you have the details of your last rent payments and the revised ones. i.e. mine was £102 per week now £107 per week.

I didn’t get a notification to check my to-do list but I’ve just signed into my journal and the prompt was there

Yes, if you're in social housing. It should be there today looking at the posts above. 🙂

My UC notification came after I'd done my rent increase via the prompt on my To Do list 🙂

Even though the Social don't work on a Bank Holiday Monday?

It's an automatic prompt built into the UC system.

Once UC are working again they'll contact landlords to verify the information given by tenants is correct.

This process can take several weeks so the prompt starting on a bank holiday makes no difference.

Yes @Catherine21 you should call UC tomorrow to inform them of your new rent amount.
