Side effects from nerve blocks
Back at the end of February I had L4 L5 nerve block injections, I've never had them before. Straight afterwards I mentioned that my right thigh was hurting, they said it was a natural side effect and will wear off. It hasn't.
I phoned the hospital 2 weeks ago and said the pain was getting worse, they told me to wait 2 weeks and call back. I called back yesterday and told them the leg pain is worse and I can barely lift my leg and it's hurts too much to sleep, they told me to ring back in 2 weeks...
So I guess my question is has anyone else had this side effect, is this normal??

Hi @Clare75 I am sorry your hospital is not helping you with the pain you are having. Could you perhaps talk to your GP about this side effect.
Take care.

My GP isn't interested they advised contacting the hospital pain clinic the nerve blocks were done at seeing as the pain only started after the injections, it was done at our local private hospital but as an NHS patient and it seems that almost all of the aftercare is for private patients only.... If it's normal that's fine at least I know if it's not then I need to know...

Hi @Clare75. I'm sorry you're not getting the help you need. I think sometimes we have to keep pestering the doctor to get what we need. Would you feel comfortable going back to your doctor and explaining what the hospital said?

Sorry this is happening to you Clare. Think about going to the department at he hospital because no one is taking your pain seriously. If the pain is bad maybe go to A and E for help.
