PIP Assesment - Report is all wrong

It’s understandable that this decision feels unfair, and in my opinion it is unfair. The assessor opened their report by saying that driving requires a range of cognitive skills, and it appears they then used that point to assume you must have the cognitive ability needed for daily living. That is a big leap, and it is not how PIP is supposed to work. It’s one of the reasons you need to see the full report, so you can understand exactly how they applied the descriptors.
Driving is not part of the PIP descriptors. Nowhere on the form are you asked whether you drive, yet the assessor has referred to it in their reasoning. Across my three PIP assessments, I have never once been asked whether I drive, and I do drive a manual car. All my PIP reports were based on the legal criteria that must be applied, pain, fatigue, balance, safety, time taken, and how I manage on most days. This focus on driving suggests to me that the descriptors may not have been applied as intended in your case, which is why seeing the full report is important.
While you cannot prevent an assessor from misrepresenting things during the assessment, you can challenge it afterwards. The first step is to request your full assessment report so you can see exactly what was written and identify anything that does not reflect your real day-to-day difficulties.
I would strongly recommend asking for an MR, and make sure that from now on all your challenges and evidence are submitted in writing.

Both my partner and I have been asked if we drive a vehicle yet you can get a mobility car if you have sufficient pip points so them doing so seems contradictory they sometimes cite the ability to drive a car/or can drive a car in their reports.
